Does an athlete choose or sacrifice?
Does an athlete make choices or sacrifices? Melody Davidson explained her views on this very topic yesterday morning at the Red Deer College Scholarship Breakfast. I think that she phrased it quite well. An athlete does not make sacrifices, they make choices. They choose to do one thing over the other because that is what will help them in their sport in the long run.
Think about the choices you have made over the past few years, do you look at your decisions as choices or sacrifices? By choosing to see them as choices you are looking at the positive side and taking responsibility for you actions and believing in the decisions you have made.
Are you a thriver or a survivor? This was another topic that Melody Davidson brought up. It speaks to your ability as a person to thrive, to make it through anything and do well in that environment. If you are a survivor, you are only just making it by. This is not to say in certain situations we will all be survivors, but are you most of the time, thriving and succeeding in your life?
Make the choice. Will you thrive or survive?
